Experience Britains ‘Wild Isles’ for yourself

From Orca’s in Shetland to Eagles on the west coast, Black Grouse lekking and Red Deer rutting in the Cairngorms, join Dan and Rachael for your very own ‘Wild Isles’ wildlife experiences.

Dan and Rachael worked on the latest Sir David Attenborough series and are offering several tours to some of the key areas in Scotland so you can see for yourself how spectacular Scottish wildlife is.

White-tailed Eagles on the West Coast of Scotland

The opening sequence of White-tailed Eagles adeptly hunting Barnacle Geese was filmed on Islay on the west coast of Scotland. Our tour takes you to the filming locations, amongst many other strategic sites to witness not only these magnificent birds, but also communal roosting Hen Harriers, tens of thousands of geese, waders and wildfowl, Peregrine, Merlin, Otters and Red dDeer, to name but a few.

Witness for yourself these wild dramas play out across the islands of Islay & Jura

Orca’s around the Shetland islands

Our Spectacular Shetland tour explores the main islands of Shetland looking for all types of wildlife, including whales and dolphins. Through our own searches and a good network of ‘spotters’ on the islands we’re in a great position to catch up with Orca’s or other whales and dolphins that may turn up along the coast. The tour also includes a private boat trip to visit the huge Gannet colony at Noss Head, which may get diverted if the call for ‘whales’ comes through! Other highlights include eye-level Puffins, Otters and a visit to an iron-age Broch on Mousa to witness the return of European Storm-Petrels to their nests within the ancient stone walls.

Lekking Black Grouse in the Cairngorms

It’s not too late to book a place on our ‘Cairngorms to Coast’ tour, during which we will witness the stunning/visual effects of  lekking Black Grouse. Their arenas are usually given away by their distinctive ‘bubbling’ sound resonating across the moorland. During this tour we explore from the peaks of the Cairngorms and their alpine plants, birds and mammals, through the stunning Caledonian forests of the glens where Red Squirrels abound, right down to the seabird cities and seal haul outs on the Aberdeenshire coast.

Autumn Deer Rutt in Royal Deeside

Aberdeenshire & the Cairngorms boast high numbers of Red Deer and you can join Dan and Rachael in Royal Deeside on an autumn private half day tour to witness the ‘rutt’. Listen out for the reverberating bellow of the stags through the glens and watch whisps of their breath drift in the cool autumnal air as the biggest males fight for the mating rights to the females.
